Kosmaj Monument,Serbia
One of the masterpieces of Yugoslavia's brutalism
Date of creation - 1971
Author - Vojin Stojic and Gradimir Medakovic
The monument was erected in memory of the Kosmay-Sava partisan detachment that operated in those places during World War II. In those battles 5820 fighters and partisans were killed, among them 340 boys and girls.

The central monumental structure of the complex consists of five separate 30-meter concrete two-pointed ribs, which all together form a form resembling a shining star.
From afar, the star-shaped monument seems to be a single structure that combines the symbolism of a five-pointed star and an explosion. But being directly near the structure itself, it becomes clear that the five console structures stand absolutely free and do not touch each other. This visual effect reflects the idea of unity, which acts together as a single whole, but consists of different unique peoples.
